Bridal Hair Trends for 2018
With the upcoming wedding season kicking straight into gear this Spring, brides sometimes don't know where to begin when it comes to how to wear their hair on the day. So used to either wearing hair down, in a ponytail or a high knot piled on top of their heads, Pinterest seems to become their best friend when it comes to searching for hair inspiration. Perhaps one place often overlooked is the Red Carpet & Catwalk, which are where most hair trends originate. With that in mind, here are my top Bridal Trends for 2018.
Giovanna Battaglia - Capri
Statement dresses demand statement hair, & nothing says statement quite like hair accessories do. Take note from the Spring/Summer collections of designers like Rodarte or Dolce & Gabbana by draping hair in floral headwear, crowns & jewels. London designer Gillian Million is one designer I would recommend for bridal headwear. With designs ranging from beaded caps to floral headdresses, you're bound to find the perfect accoutrement to complete your look.
Dolce & Gabanna
High necklines lend themselves well to hair which is swept up & away from the face, exposing dress details & the best of your inherited bone structure. As seen on the models of Etro, Amanda Wakeley & Suzanne Neville, low chignons are relaxed this season with soft tendrils round the hairline & braided texture. Asking your stylist to pad out your bun will give added volume & finish, keeping everything in balance.
Jenny Packham
Bohemian, rock & roll brides can rest assured that a relaxed approach is still a welcome option, with designers such as Givenchy, Naeem Khan & Jenny Packham leaving hair down. For those bold enough to try the unexpected, you could ask your stylist to add a little crimp to your wave. Just be sure to keep it modern with random placement throughout.
Oscar De La Renta
Classic & sophisticated, Oscar De La Renta & Elie Saab opted to keep it clean with a low, chic ponytail. This option is perfect for brides with strapless dresses who wish to keep everything understated. Have your stylist wrap the exposed ponytail in tissue before you walk down the aisle will keep hair as sleek as possible.
No matter what style you opt for, taking a moment to learn how the designers themselves have envisioned their aisle moments can open your eyes & completely elevate your final look.
